stories of dealing with a period in their lives
when they could not pay their bills on time.

This week I had three of my live 'How To Own Your
Paycheck Again!' workshops.  It's nice to read
feedback in email but I also enjoy seeing and
hearing people's reaction to  learning my formula.  
Laughter at my jokes is a motivator too!

I only do 3 classes now, down from 25 or so each
semester, because they are close to home and I
still learn good info and get good ideas from
the folks who attend.

For instance, this week I learned that some credit
card companies are sending out their bills to arrive
one week before the bill is due.

This is another good reason to automate as many
of your bill payments as possible.  Or at the very
least pay your bills through the creditors website.

I also learned that people with money problems
still think buying a home will solve them all.

I addressed this issue in my blog last year and
got nearly 20 replies from folks who wished they
knew then what they know now.

One student this week was lamenting that her bills were
due at a time that did not line up well with her
paychecks.

This is usually a pretty easy fix.  Contact your creditors
and ask them what you'd have to do to adjust your payment
date to one that works better for you.

When you do this, let me know how it goes.

Well it's Thursday and I haven't done my brackets yet.
The teams I would root for, Siena, Santa Clara and George Mason
are out, so the only team for me is Eastern Kentucky.  The brother of
one of my college roommates is an assistant coach for them.

They play North Carolina so I won't be placing any wagers
but it's a fun time of year if you are a fan of college basketball.

shaving her head to help raise money to find a cure for childhood
cancer. Her goal is to raise $1000.  As someone who has a cranium
that would not look good bald, I'm not in the habit of encouraging
it in others but this is for a great cause.  Surely all the good folks
