As I said,  I've gotten some really great money TIPS sent in by
subscribers and I'm looking for lots more.  Here is a terrific
example of the great ideas I'm getting.  Thanks to Judy Garey of
Arkansas for this very helpful suggestion...

"Do this for EVERY loan that you owe on.
Add up all of the finance charges, late fees, and overlimit charges
for every loan and total them up at the bottom.


 
Take a voided check and write it out to :  "The Garbage Can" 
Then fill in the amount of all the finance charges added up together,
sign it with the words "could be invested"
 
Then post it on your refrigerator.  Every time you walk passed the
refrigerator you'll remember why YOU DON'T WANT TO PURCHASE ON
CREDIT!!

I did this and my check is made out to the Garbage can for over
$900 a month!  It makes me sick enough to NOT use credit!! And
reminds me of why I'm staying on my path to debt freedom and my
goal of working with cash only...............
 
EVERYTHING COSTS MORE USING CREDIT!!!!

Thanks again Judy!  That was a GREAT idea!  I'd also suggest
increasing the "pain" by figuring out how much you could have in
your pocket if you did invest that money.  In this case $900
invested every month would grow to $60,764 in just 5 years if you
got a 4% return on your investment.  $71,134 if you got 10% per
year.  $54,000 if you put it under your mattress.
