I recently asked subscribers:

'What was the best thing you did this past year
and why?'

As usual we got many great and inspiring answers to that question. Here are some...

Hi Leo.  The best thing I did in 2006 was to finally start reading your book I
bought a year or two ago.  Yes, I was waiting....waiting for energy, waiting to get
well enough to sit here and get my desk cleared off, waiting for more money, just
waiting.  The waiting got me in deeper debt as I ended up getting depressed and then
forgetting or not caring about paying the bills on time.  Once I started reading
your book I immediately felt relief.  Now I have an action plan.  I understood what
I read and felt better knowing which direction I was going next.  I'm not spinning
in circles now.  Thanks to your words I am now facing forward and have accepted that
it is going to take some time to get out of this debt but that is fine.  As long as
I know it will happen I feel much better.  Thank you for making it easy to
understand.  I was afraid I wouldn't understand the book and end up feeling stupid.
Instead I ended up feeling empowered.  For the first time ever I know...not feel
or think but KNOW I can do this.  Thank you!!

Peace and Love,
Josephine

The best thing I did this past year occurred just a few weeks ago. I
decided to do a collection at my workplace for one of our custodians. He
was out for a hip replacement surgery, and had several other health issues
that caused a great financial strain on him. Our school (I'm a teacher)
donated $700 for him, and wrote pages of notes to him telling him how much
he was missed. I had so much fun doing this! Now I'll be looking for
another way to do something like that again for someone else.

Financially, the best thing I did in 2006 was to begin working with a wealth
management firm. This all started when I read the book "Start Late, Finish
Rich." From there, I attended a workshop called "Smart Women Fininsh Rich."
It was at the workshop that I met my financial planner. Being single, it
has been a great blessing to have someone I trust to bounce things off of (I
found out later that he even attends my church). My financial planner has
educated me and helped me to understand my finances. I'm currently in the
process of opening and IRA. We're checking details before funding it, but
it will definitely help me on my taxes for the year.

Thanks for your financial tips as well. The more I learn, the better my
financial future looks.

Happy New Year, 2007!

Theresa

This past year the best thing I did was...NOT WAIT to
start my New Year's Resolution. I was sick of not
having any time to myself...to excercise or just read
a book. I'm a single mom who works full-time and is
also a part-time graduate student. I used to complain
that I didn't have enough time...I was already getting
up at 5am...If I wanted time for myself I'd have to
get up at 4am. Well guess what? I did it! I figured
that my evenings were pretty much a waste of time
since I was always too tired to do anything. So now I
go to bed at 8:30 (after my daughter is in bed) and
get up at 3:45. I now have time to excercise, do
housework, and just have a some quiet "me" time that I
can enjoy. My days start of better, I have more energy
at work, and my evenings are focused on my daughter,
the most important thing in my life. So here's to not
waiting!
