THIS ISSUE:   Did You Ever Get One Of These Letters?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks so much for reading.  Read on
to learn about a scary challenge that
was made to me this week.

I got one of those letters yesterday.
One of those "your information may have
been stolen" type messages.

Specifically this one said,  "Important
Information Regarding Account Number
Ending In 1234"

"...a service provider to US retail merchants,
was recently victimized by an employee
who wrongfully removed and sold
consumer information to a data broker,
who in turn sold a subset of that data
to a limited number of direct marketing
organizations."

I never get too excited about stuff like
this for two reasons: 1) I recently canceled
the debit card attached to this checking
account number, so there was nothing to
worry about there and 2) I signed up for
the LifeLock's program.  LifeLock is a
proactive identity theft protection agency,
specializing in prevention of identity theft
rather than the reporting of it.

You can learn more about this program at:
http://www.LeoQuinn.com/lifelock.html

Certainly no system is perfect and there
is no need to write me with all the ways
my identity could be stolen.  I'm
confident I've done all I reasonably can.

Do you carry a credit card from Chase?

Even if you don't, this little tip can help
you too.

This month Chase unveiled its "Clear and
Simple" program.

Whether it's using a free alert system to remind
yourself about approaching payment due dates,
signing up for automatic on-line payments, or
choosing a customized due date that is more
convenient, you can easily avoid fees, preserve
interest rates, and help develop a strong credit
history that will deliver benefits to you throughout
your life. Chase offers these tools, and more, and
encourages their use.

A feature I like is that you can set it up to get a
text message (or email) every time a charge of
over 'X" dollars is made to your account.  No surprises
in the monthly bills that way.

Go to:
http://chaseclearandsimple.com/index.html

If you don't carry a Chase card, check with
your card companies to see if they offer
something similar...particularly the ability
to adjust your monthly due date.

Most companies have some provision to
do that for you but you have to ask.

It doesn't make sense to sweat out
coordinating your due date and your pay
date if you don't have to.

That's all for this week.

Thanks again for reading.  I really do
appreciate it.

If I can answer any questions for you, please drop me an email at
Leo AT LeoQuinn.com and if I don't know the answer I can point you
in the right direction.

Sincerely,

Leo

P.S.  The first thing I ever bought online was
a book by Jim Daniels on the topic of email.
I think that was way back in 1998.
Jim is still putting out great stuff and
you can learn a lot just by watching him.
He has a new report called "The New Age Wo*rk at
Home Plan: Internet-Based Financial Independence
in 10 Simple Steps" You can read about it at

IMPORTANT: DO NOT PAY FOR IT. Click on the GOLD
KEY toward the bottom of that page for immediate

Leo- Thanks for the link to Emergency Cash Generators!
I don't usually fall for such things, since most
of them are rip-offs, but I took a chance on this
one because the link came from you. And I love it!
The ideas are original and clever. There's an idea
there for just about anyone -- extravert or
introvert -- and it's triggered so many additional
ideas of my own! LuAnn. Check it out at:
